Many of you have been following our wildlife sightings with interest and excitement. As you recall, to date we have spotted 4 deer, a herd of pigs in a woodlot pen, and a flock of pelicans (?) on a lake. In 1700 miles, maybe a bit of a disappointment. We had a break out day on Sunday and have included photos to show that it wasn't a wildlife park
Some nice young caribou crossed in front of us and then some more appeared on the hillside
After seeing sign after sign warning of moose, elk, horses, etc., these Stone Sheep actually appeared after the warning.
We actually saw several groups of them including some youngsters
In Fort Nelson was an illuminated sign mentioning buffalo on the highway in the Muncho Lake area. To our surprise, there were buffalo on the road at Muncho Lake! Another pleasant sighting was that of a black bear. Unfortunately he didn't stay long enough to get his picture.
The Sign Post Forest is in Watson Lake, with 71,000 signs. Amazingly, 2000 new ones are added every year!
A great picture by our photographer of Swan Lake
Usually having a person in a picture adds to the overall quality and enjoyment of those viewing. In this picture, however, the inclusion tends to detract from the beauty of the scenery.
